Blue Ridge, Georgia
“Does it get any better than this?” That’s what we kept asking at Pop’s Peak, a 40-acre mountain retreat from Blue Sky Cabin Rentals just outside Blue Ridge, Georgia. Early mornings, trout-filled streams and burgers with a view.

About the cabin
Pop’s Peak is a five-bedroom log home in Morganton, a short drive from downtown Blue Ridge. It sleeps up to 12, so it’s great for family trips and friend getaways.
- Big views. Sweeping valley and mountain views from the screened porch and deck.
- Trout on the property. A Georgia Gold Medal trout stream, plus a stocked catch-and-release pond.
- Hot tubs and a fire pit. Two hot tubs, a fire pit, a gas grill and a Green Egg for those burgers with a view.
- Game room fun. Ping pong and a cozy lower-level living room.
- Room for everyone. Five bedrooms and a dining table that seats 12.
- Heads up: it isn’t pet-friendly, so plan ahead for the pup.
Why Blue Ridge
- Trout capital. Blue Ridge calls itself the Trout Capital of Georgia, and the Toccoa River is close by.
- A cute downtown. Shops, restaurants and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.
- Lake days. Lake Blue Ridge is close by for a day on the water.
- Fishing tip. Georgia requires a fishing license, plus a trout license for trout waters.
